Why "anarchy.moe?"

A brief summary of why this has become the official name of our project.

Anarchy

Think about the term “Anarchy” for a while. What is the first impression that comes in mind?

Chances are that you have a negative connotation of the word. Anarchy is associated with violence and lack of solidarity, mob mentality and egoism. A state of anarchy is seen as space without rules, where the survival of the fittest is the only mandate - It brings out all of the disturbing and ugly side of mankind.

By no means.

A concept is a brick.
It can be used to build a courthouse of reason.
Or it can be thrown through the window.

  • Gilles Deleuze, A Thousand Plateaus: Capitalism and Schizophrenia

Anarchism as a concept is but the polar opposite of Authoritarian. It is not the absence of rules that defines anarchy, it is the absence of rulers. As such an anarchistic society describes an egalitarian society, in which all members are treated equally.

One of our main principles is a voluntary participation in events or activities, as without authority, there are no demands except mutual respect.

Moe

“Moe” is a japanese slang word for “cute”. It represents our openness for other cultures outside of the typical western hemisphere, as well as highlighting our positive view of Anarchy. Everyone is different, and we don’t try to apply a scale of personal achievement to determine the value of a person. Y’all cute!
